The Coachella Music Festival has become a big player on the festival scene for people of all ages and draws musicians of all stripes. Madonna, Coldplay, the Arcade Fire, Bjork and other big names have played Coachella, and new up-and-coming bands often get their first break here. The 2008 edition takes place from April 25 to 27th.

It’s a great excuse to check out the charms of the greater Coachella Valley region, which include the famous town of Palm Springs, the scenic San Jacinto Mountains and the Salton Sea.

While many Coachella concertgoers camp out nearby, may we suggest a different route?
